Meet the Team

We are a team of passionate individuals who have guided and instructed in the mountains and forests of Aotearoa New Zealand for the last decade and beyond. It's our privilege to take guests deep into our lush forests or high above the snow line into the pristine, untouched world of the alpine region. We have a vast knowledge of the flora, fauna, history and geology of this beautiful region.

Ciara: Track Guide - Kaiārahi

Ciara (pronounced key-ra), is from Ireland and has lived in New Zealand since 2019. She originally came to New Zealand to climb mountains, explore the country, improve her outdoors skills and have lots of fun!

Since arriving in New Zealand Ciara has worked in the ski industry, with horses, walked the length of New Zealand, completed a postgraduate certificate in adventure therapy, and an outdoor education certificate. Ciara joined the Guided Walks New Zealand team in September 2022. Ciara loves being able to share her passion of the outdoors with visitors to New Zealand in the hope that they fall in love with this very unique country in the same way that she has.

Jack: Track Guide – Kaiārahi

Jack has been lucky to have an upbringing in the Whakatipu and Fiordland area, where he has spent a lot of his childhood camping around Whakatipu and exploring Tamatea (Dusky Sound). Nowadays, Jack splits his summer guiding in both the Hollyford Valley and Tahuna (Queenstown/ Glenorchy) area. In his guiding role, Jack really enjoys discovering people's interests and tailoring a unique experience for them while having a few laughs. Jack is passionate about the endless learning he gets to undertake and this is part of what makes guiding such a stimulating, rewarding and wholesome job.
